Position: Senior Consultant | Tax Services

Location: Sunnyside / N. Highlands Area

This will be an extremely competitive and rewarding opportunity for the perfect applicant, especially one looking for a vertical career opportunity, but please take the time to read through the job requirements and expectations listed below carefully before submitting your cover letter and resume.  In an effort to reserve this opportunity for only motivated and qualified candidates, we have very strict job requirements and high expectations for the professionals that represent our Company.  Candidates should be prepared for an extensive interview process (technical and behavioral), and candidates will undergo a thorough pre-employment background check.  We are currently a team of 11 high-performing professionals and appreciate this hiring process since it supports the growth of a goal-oriented team that we can all rely on (and achieve success from). If you think you are a perfect fit for us, please take five minutes to apply to this amazing opportunity.

YOU = A motivated accounting professional possessing a very strong work ethic, who genuinely appreciates their role and responsibility as an experienced tax practitioner, and is someone who wants a lucrative opportunity with a smaller firm that is quickly growing.

·        Ideal candidates should be described by employers, coworkers, and friends/family as: Independent (in thinking and execution), technical, confident, hard-working, detail oriented, a go-getter, honest, motivated, positive attitude, proactive, career-centered, professional, organized, personable/amicable, responsible, reliable/dependable, and ambitious.

US = High growth full-service accounting and tax firm with an awesome company culture looking for a professional that can help support and grow the practice.

·        Our employees and clients describe us as professional, having a fun/energetic culture, responsive, cutting-edge (i.e. cloud-based applications and processes), appreciative, hard-working, respectful, thoughtful, and honest.

WHY ARE WE HIRING?

We are currently a team of 11 (+/- a few contractors) and are looking to bring on two full-time professionals immediately -- one in our accounting services department (consulting) and one in our tax services department (this opportunity). We are very fortunate in that we are currently facing a healthy new client pipeline due to word-of-mouth referrals from our existing clients and referral partners.  We are looking to control this growth by strategically hiring the right professionals to join our team. Our short-term goal is to double in size within the next two to three years. Our long-term plan (for now) is to maintain the feel of a smaller boutique-style CPA firm by employing the right team of high caliber professionals to serve our client base, which we’ll eventually limit with strict client acceptance standards. We, therefore, are looking to bring on professionals that enjoy leading by example, learning new tasks, and teaching others in return. In short, building a strong company culture that focuses on client and employee satisfaction has become our number one priority.

This past tax season the Owner of the Company, along with two high-performing Tax Seniors, successfully managed the entire tax side of the practice. The Owner is now looking for a very experienced tax senior who is wanting to work alongside current staff and take ownership and responsibility of the tax practice (under Senior Management’s guidance) in an effort to help manage the current book and grow it in years to come as part of Management, if successfully promoted.

The practice will require the senior tax accountant to jump on board and learn the firm's processes, procedures, and client book of business very quickly. The senior tax accountant will then have extensive involvement and responsibility in the preparation of taxes for our existing book of business for their first tax year, with full-time staff and limited contractor assistance, if/when needed.  The senior tax accountant should be prepared for a tough, but very rewarding, tax season. Their hands-on involvement will be necessary to better learn the clients, the scope and scale of the work to be completed, and to be prepared to grow the tax business the following year (as the Manager of the Tax Services Department, if successfully promoted).

As an experienced tax senior within the tax department, the candidate will also be responsible for leading, mentoring, and managing other staff and senior-level tax associates. The perfect candidate should feel comfortable working alongside our Senior-level staff and collectively share responsibility and efforts as part of the tax team, especially considering that the firm’s Senior talent has been a loyal resource within the Company and understands current technical and managerial processes and procedures.
