Tax Services – Senior Tax Accountant/Consultant

· This role reports directly to the Tax Director of the firm

·Manage several clients and deliver work timely and accurately so clients can make the necessary decisions needed to run their businesses

·Assist in developing tax strategies to solve client issues

·Assist in providing technical tax consulting services to client base

·Prepare accurate and complete tax returns for a range of entity types and industries

·Continuously monitor tax law changes and advise clients on tax complexities affecting their businesses

·Maintain existing client relationships and participate in business development efforts

·Assist in recruiting and hiring efforts

·Participate as an individual contributor to the team and mentor staff with less experience


·Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

·Minimum 2+ years of relevant tax experience

·An extensive knowledge of taxation on individuals and a wide range of tax structures including sole proprietorships, partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, estates and trusts

·An extensive knowledge of areas of taxation affecting small businesses and state and local taxation

·Ability to put in extra effort as needed to complete engagements and projects with demanding deadlines

·Knowledge of tax compliance software and tax research tools including but not limited to Drake, OneSource, GoSystems, CorpTax, RIA Checkpoint and Bloomberg BNA

·Ability to work in fast-paced environment and adaptable to change

·Detail oriented and strong organizational skills for handling multiple client projects simultaneously

·Ability to work independently, efficiently, and accurately

·Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel

·Has received solid performance reviews and feedback from previous employers

·Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills 

·Possesses an interest in business development and growing a book of business

·Positive attitude, dependable, and reliable



·Active CPA License or currently pursuing a CPA License

·Master’s Degree of Accountancy and/or Master’s Degree of Taxation

·Knowledge of small business accounting and start-up accounting

·Experience at a Big Four public accounting firm

·Experience in technical areas of tax including but not limited to mergers and acquisitions and business combinations

·Working knowledge of sales tax, payroll tax, and property tax

·Can quickly research unknown technical issues using various firm tools and resources
