Accounting Services – Consultancy/Accounting Manager

  • This role reports directly to the managing owner of the firm

  • Oversee and lead the accounting/consulting practice

  • Meet client deadlines and manage workload of the accounting practice

  • Continuously develop strategies to solve business issues and client issues

  • Lead, manage, develop and coach accounting staff

  • Develop firm strategies and best practices to help firm growth

  • Provide technical accounting and consulting services to client base

  • Continuously monitor accounting standard changes and advise clients on accounting complexities

  • Maintain existing client relationships and participate in business development efforts

  • Actively participate in recruiting and hiring efforts

  • Participate as an individual contributor and leader of the accounting practice


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant accounting experience

  • Previous supervisory experience.  This role will have direct reports.

  • An extensive knowledge of US GAAP and accounting practices including but not limited to year end and month-end closing processes, financial statement preparation and general ledger accounting

  • Working knowledge of cash basis and accrual basis accounting as well as conversions

  • Knowledge of accounting systems including but not limited to QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP and Hyperion

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and adaptable to change

  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills for handling multiple client projects simultaneously

  • Hungry and motivated to make a difference in America's small business landscape

  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and accurately

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel

  • Has received very solid performance reviews and feedback from employers and/or faculty

  • Ability to put in extra effort as needed to complete engagements and projects with demanding deadlines

  • Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Possesses an interest in business development and growing a book of business

  • Positive attitude, dependable, and reliable (we'll close the job 'requirements' with this)


  • Master’s Degree of Accountancy

  • Experience at Big Four public accounting firm

  • Experience in technical areas of accounting including but not limited to mergers and acquisitions and business combinations

  • Working knowledge of taxation on individuals and a wide range of business structures including sole proprietorships, Partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, Estates and Trusts

  • Knowledge of small business accounting and start-up accounting

  • Can quickly research unknown technical issues using various firm tools and resources
